About Our Attorneys

Leonard J. Birbrower, Esq., a firm partner, received his Juris Doctorate from New York Law School in 1963. He was admitted to the New York State Bar the same year and to the U.S. District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York in 1966, U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit in 1969, and the U.S. Supreme Court in 1972. His extensive experience in representing seriously injured clients has included all fields of tort law including automobile, premises, construction, products and serious medical malpractice actions. He has handled and tried a wide variety of other serious matters including insurance disputes, contract actions, discrimination and criminal cases. His community involvement has led him to be awarded the Friends of Jawonio Award (Rockland County Center for the Physically Handicapped) and Man of the Year award from his Congregation. His service on the Jawonio Board has included its Chairmanship and Presidency of its Foundation. He was also Chairman of the Community Services Board of Rockland County that reviews the programs of non-profit organizations involved in mental health, mental retardation, developmental disabilities, alcohol and substance abuse. He is a long-standing member of the Rockland County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, American Bar Association, New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.

Steven H. Beldock, Esq., a firm partner, received his Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School in 1986. He was admitted to the New Jersey State Bar in 1986 and the New York State Bar in 1987. Mr. Beldock has dedicated his legal career to the representation of clients in serious personal injury and medical malpractice actions. He has successfully represented clients involved in serious personal injury and medical malpractice actions throughout the State of New York, as well as in the New York Federal Courts. Throughout his career, he has focused on being responsive to the needs of his clients and working hard to best represent those needs, both in and out of the court room. Mr. Beldock is on the Board of Directors of the JCC-Y of Rockland County. Both individually and as a partner of the firm, he has strongly supported many charitable organizations. Mr. Beldock is also an active member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the Rockland County Bar Association.

Jeffrey B. Saunders, Esq., a firm partner, received his Juris Doctorate from New York Law School in 1989. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1990 and the New Jersey State Bar in 1992. Mr. Saunders is also admitted in Federal Court in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, as well as Federal District Court of the State of New Jersey. Mr. Saunders has dedicated his legal career to the vigorous representation of clients in serious personal injury actions, and has successfully represented clients involved in serious personal injury actions in both the State and Federal Courts of New York and New Jersey. Mr. Saunders is an active member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the Rockland County Bar Association. Additionally, Mr. Saunders is a volunteer firefighter.

Valerie J. Crown, Esq., an attorney with the firm, received her Juris Doctorate from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1983. She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1984 and to the Federal Court in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York in 1985. For the past twenty years Ms. Crown has represented victims of medical and dental malpractice, defective products and negligence. She has won the highest dental malpractice verdict in Rockland County. Ms. Crown currently serves as the President of the Rockland County Women's Bar Association and as an executive board member of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York. She is a member of many other professional and charitable organizations and plays clarinet with the Rockland County Concert Band.

Jeffrey J. Schietzelt, Esq., an attorney with the firm, received a B.A. from Sacred Heart University in 1999 and his Juris Doctorate from Fordham University Law School in 2002. While attending Fordham, Jeffrey served as an Associate Editor of Fordham International Law Journal and upon graduation, received the annual Phillip R. Fusco Memorial Award. Jeffrey is an active member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the Rockland County Bar Association. Jeffrey scored in the 94th percentile nationally on the LSAT, and subsequently has been accepted by KAPLAN as an LSAT instructor. Jeffrey volunteers his time by mentoring pre-law students from his alma mater, SHU, and by using his experience as a professional beach volleyball player in instructing/coaching youth volleyball clinics and organizations.

Gerald J.
